National LambdaRail

National LambdaRail was a high-speed, 12,000-mile national computer network in the U.S. serving over 280 research universities and labs. It was the first transcontinental 10 Gigabit Ethernet network, supporting advanced research projects with high capacity and availability. Founded in 2003, it ceased operations in 2014 after being acquired for healthcare infrastructure plans.
