National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome

The National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome provides the Period of PURPLE Crying program, an evidence-based initiative to educate parents and caregivers about normal infant crying patterns and prevent shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma. The center also runs public awareness campaigns and collaborates with healthcare and community organizations to protect infants from abuse.
