South Carolina Counties Attract Manufacturing Investments
March 21, 2026
South Carolina counties Greenville and Marion have secured significant manufacturing investments from United Composite Materials, LLC and NSP Panels, respectively. United Composite Materials is investing $17.5 million to establish its first South Carolina facility in Greenville County, creating 50 new jobs to serve the North American sports and leisure composite markets. NSP Panels is expanding operations in Marion County with a $4.75 million investment, creating 63 new jobs and operating from a 129,000-square-foot facility in Mullins. These developments are supported by state and local economic development incentives and partnerships, reflecting South Carolina's ongoing commitment to manufacturing growth.
- Why this matters: Procurement professionals should note the growing manufacturing footprint in South Carolina, which may increase demand for local suppliers, logistics, and workforce development services.
- The investments highlight opportunities for contractors and vendors to engage with expanding composite materials manufacturing sectors in Greenville and Marion counties.
- Economic development incentives and regional partnerships demonstrate the state's proactive role in attracting and supporting manufacturing operations.
- Organizations involved in workforce recruitment and training can leverage readySC's recruitment platform (https://www.sctechjobs.com) to connect with new job opportunities created by these investments.
By creating 63 jobs, NSP Panels will bring new opportunities to hardworking families in Marion County and build on our manufacturing industrys strong reputation. We are proud to welcome NSP Panels to South Carolina and look forward to the companys success here.
