Army Launches UAS Marketplace Solicitation
March 16, 2026
The U.S. Army's Project Management Office for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (PMO UAS) has initiated a Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) for the UAS Marketplace to broaden the industrial base and accelerate the adoption of commercial drone technologies. This open-ended solicitation supports the Pentagon's modernization efforts by enabling rapid procurement and prototyping of advanced uncrewed aircraft systems and related technologies that meet soldier operational needs. The CSO remains open indefinitely, allowing industry to submit innovative solutions continuously, facilitating faster integration of emerging drone capabilities into military operations.
- The solicitation is managed by PMO UAS with contracting support from Army Contracting Command-Redstone, located in Redstone, Alabama.
- This initiative reflects a strategic shift toward agile acquisition methods, linking soldier demand directly to industry innovation for uncrewed aircraft systems.
- Procurement professionals should note the open-ended nature of the CSO, which allows ongoing submissions and rapid evaluation, creating continuous opportunities for vendors.
- Companies specializing in drone technologies and related systems can leverage this marketplace to engage with the Army and accelerate technology transition into defense applications.
Our goal is to integrate sensors, effectors and mission command systems into a responsive, interoperable network that protects service members and American citizens alike.
