March 13, 2026
The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has completed the Final Environmental Assessment with a Finding of No Significant Impact for the Coburn Gore Land Port of Entry expansion and modernization project in Maine. This environmental milestone clears the way for construction to begin in summer 2028, supporting federal border security objectives and enhancing infrastructure for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
- The project represents a significant federal infrastructure investment aimed at modernizing a critical border facility to meet current and future operational needs.
- Procurement professionals should anticipate upcoming contracting opportunities related to construction, design, and modernization services starting in 2028.
- Vendors specializing in federal construction and border security infrastructure may find strategic opportunities to engage with GSA and CBP.
- The project aligns with federal priorities on border security modernization, indicating sustained government focus and funding in this area.
By advancing the Coburn Gore Land Port of Entry project, GSA continues to deliver on President Trumpβs border security directives. The completed environmental assessment allows us to move forward in building a modernized facility, meeting our federal clientβs current and future needs.
