# Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting, 11/05/2026

The City of Laredo Planning & Zoning Commission meeting was held November 5, 2026. The commission considered a zone-change request for properties on Winding Drive from R3 to M1 to allow a demolition company with outdoor storage. Staff opposed the change, citing the comprehensive plan, isolated zoning, access, and nearby residential and creek concerns, and had suggested a conditional use permit. The applicant said the business had operated at the site for decades and described current storage practices. The commission voted to recommend the M1 designation, with Commissioner Baron opposed; the item was expected to proceed to City Council alongside a related case across the street.

The commission also approved several preliminary and final plats and subdivision-compliance items, generally subject to staff comments, for commercial, residential, and industrial developments. For the D&J Alexander commercial phase 15 plat, a request to reduce the cul-de-sac front-yard setback to 10 feet was ultimately approved on a 4–1 vote after an initial vote failed. No contracts, purchasing decisions, budget allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.
