# Lincoln County Commission November 5, 2026

At its November 5, 2026 meeting, the Lincoln County Commission canvassed the November 3 general election and approved and executed the official abstract of votes by motion and vote. The auditor reported 26,628 ballots cast among 51,694 registered voters (51.51% turnout); 35 unstamped ballots from Precinct 26 could not be counted, and two provisional ballots were not counted because no voter registrations could be located. The commission also randomly selected Precincts 25 and 120 for a post-election audit scheduled for November 17.

During public comment, the county superintendent reported a federal grant award of more than $6.7 million for a bundled package of road and intersection projects, with estimated total costs of about $8.4 million and an 80/20 federal-local funding split. Projects discussed included improvements near Hudson and at several northern county intersections, including Western Avenue and 271st Street and County Roads 110 and 117. Federal agreements, engineering, and environmental approvals are still needed; construction may not begin before 2028, and some projects may be later. The superintendent said the county would return to the commission to propose reallocating about $1.1 million budgeted for the Hudson project, which is now included in the grant package; no related spending or procurement vote was taken at this meeting.
