# Special Meeting: Victorian Village Commission (10/14/2026)

The City of Columbus Victorian Village Commission held a special hearing on October 14, 2026. The commission approved the prior meeting minutes and took preservation-related actions on several property applications; no contracts, purchases, budget allocations, bids, or other procurement activity were identified. It approved the application for 56 West Starr Avenue with conditions covering a walkway connection, stair painting, and documentation of siding and trim work, and made an affirmative recommendation on requested variances for a lot split at 1214 Neil Avenue/1215 Forsythe Avenue. The demolition and landscaping proposal at 1112 Hunter Avenue was continued pending additional application materials, including a legible site plan, documentation of project funding, and a streetscape view. The slate-roof proposal at 3436 West [address unclear in transcript] and the work at 213 West First Avenue were also continued for further review; the latter will include staff review of masonry-cleaning test areas and the roof work.

The commission provided design feedback but took no action on conceptual proposals at 96 West Starr Avenue and 120 Goodale Street. The Goodale Street proposal for iron bars would require a joint application with Recreation and Parks if submitted for action. The hearing also ended with continuances for applications at 105–107 West First Avenue and 45 Bubbles Avenue. Discussions concerned historic-building alterations, demolition, roofing, site improvements, and public safety—not government purchasing or contracting.
