# Traffic Calming Meeting #2 for Redwood-Rosedale-Springbrook 10/29/26

Traffic-calming public engagement meeting #2 for the Redwood–Rosedale–Springbrook project, hosted by CTN Ann Arbor on October 29, 2026. City staff and Wade Trim presented a preliminary plan using temporary paint-and-post curb extensions at several intersections. The city said the design maintains a 20-foot roadway clearance for emergency vehicles; speed humps are not proposed because the project area lacks continuous sidewalk on at least one side, and permanent concrete curb extensions are reserved for larger capital projects. Staff described the paint-and-post installations as interim measures that require coordination with snow removal and maintenance. No contract award, procurement vote, or spending approval was made. The project is a retrofit effort operating under a constrained budget.

Residents questioned the project boundaries, outreach, device locations and effectiveness, winter maintenance, and whether feedback could change the plan. Staff said input would be reviewed as the design proceeds, and a final polling card would be sent to residents in the project area, with about a month to respond. Results are expected to be posted and the plan sent to City Council, likely in January or February, for budgeting; construction timing remains undetermined. A one-year follow-up survey is part of the program. Requests for measures such as traffic circles, stop signs, flashing speed-limit signs, and traffic signals were described as outside this project’s scope.
