# Wadsworth City Council - November 4, 2026

The Wadsworth City Council Committee of the Whole Finance and City Council met on November 4, 2026. The council introduced the 2027 budget ordinance (26-173) for review; administration estimated a gross budget of approximately $144 million, with projected revenues slightly exceeding expenses overall. Budget figures remain subject to review and possible amendment, and financing for downtown work was still being developed with bond counsel and financial advisers. The committee advanced an ordinance authorizing engineering design services for a high-rate demonstration study (26-175) to second reading; no vendor or contract amount was identified. A fire protection, EMS, and dispatch services contract with Wadsworth Township for 2027–2031 (26-119) advanced to third reading, as did an $83,000 supplemental appropriation (26-121) and ordinances addressing water, stormwater, and sewer rates. A $24,846.30 bond for the 2025 sidewalk program also advanced in the reading process. The council adopted a $183,641 supplemental appropriation for debt-service payments (26-115).

The committee reviewed compensation ordinances providing generally 3% increases for 2027, including a 12% increase for the assistant law director, and an employee-recognition gift-card appropriation capped at $2,500 (estimated actual cost of about $2,200–$2,300). A proposal to explore a process or committee for reviewing future pay increases with community input was discussed, with follow-up anticipated early in 2027; no action was taken on that proposal. Annual housekeeping ordinances were tabled because two council members were absent.
