# Personnel Committee - November 4, 2026

The Allegany County, New York Personnel Committee met November 4, 2026. The committee approved changes to the legal salary chart for department heads and non-unit members, including a rate for part-time attorneys and adjustments to previously approved cost-of-living increases. It also approved an exception to the county’s part-time employee benefits rules: part-time attorneys enrolled in the high-deductible plan with a 0% monthly premium will not have to use the county time-and-attendance system to receive the benefit; retirement-system reporting requirements still apply. The committee appointed Michael McCormack of Andover as a commissioner of elections.

The committee approved requests to fill five positions: two senior caseworkers in the Department of Social Services, an HMEO II for the bridge crew, a probation officer trainee, and a coordinator of services in the Office for the Aging. Members noted that the caseworker positions are primarily supported by state and federal funding, with one described as 93% state and federal funded and 7% county funded. No contracts, vendor selections, or other procurement activity were identified.
