# Mobile GR Commission Meeting - November 4, 2026

The City of Grand Rapids Mobile GR Commission met on November 4, 2026, to discuss transit service priorities, the amphitheater’s first-season transportation and parking results, and the city’s parking market competitiveness framework. No contract awards, vendor selections, bid approvals, or other procurement actions were identified. Transit proposals from The Rapid were preliminary: options included evening and weekend frequency improvements, cross-town routes, a Dash evening service estimated at about $330,000 annually, and event-night Dash service estimated at about $380,000 annually. Commissioners generally emphasized more frequent service and longer operating hours, questioned the value of the proposed cross-town routes and free event shuttles, and discussed fares or other ways to support costs. Staff will refine the options with The Rapid and bring recommendations forward; the Dash working group is expected to provide input for the Commission’s December meeting to inform budget planning before January.

Staff reported that amphitheater event nights averaged about 40% parking occupancy, peaked at 65%, and saw a 21% increase in Dash use; one event-night comparison showed about 1,600 additional transit rides. Commissioners praised the season’s transportation planning and suggested improving bicycle parking and promoting walking and shared-mobility options ahead of the soccer stadium opening. The parking framework discussion covered fund sustainability, facility maintenance and lifecycle costs, market comparisons, private-lot coordination, neighborhood hub lots, and the existing annual 2% monthly-pass rate increase. Staff will develop further information and stakeholder input for future Commission review. These were planning and advisory discussions, not procurement decisions.
