# 11/03/26 City Commission Meeting

At the November 3, 2026, Manhattan City Commission meeting, commissioners unanimously approved two Public Works truck purchases after removing them from the consent agenda for discussion. The 2027 F-550 service truck was approved for approximately $175,000 from Olathe Fleet Sales, Inc.; staff explained that the specialized truck supports water-main repairs and other field work, and that the original public bid exceeded $200,000 and was rejected. Commissioners also approved a 2027 F-250 crew-cab valve-exercising truck with utility bed; no price or vendor was stated in the transcript. Staff said $210,000 was budgeted for the two vehicles, the F-550 was about $25,000 over its individual budget, and the Water Fund could absorb the combined purchases without affecting the overall utility budget or ratepayers. Both purchase votes were 5–0.

The commission also voted 5–0 to approve ordinances setting 2027 service fees, continuing the Aggieville Business Improvement District (BID), and continuing and expanding the Downtown BID, and authorized agreements with the Aggieville Business Association and Downtown Manhattan Inc. The proposed Downtown BID expansion extends along Points Avenue through the 800 block; the discussion noted expected BID receipts of about $115,000 and $183,183 in transit gas-tax funding for downtown operations. Separately, commissioners unanimously approved rezoning 4790 Skyway Drive from county highway business zoning to Industrial Commercial Services with an airport overlay. No other procurement action was identified.
