# City Council Meeting for November 2, 2026

At its November 2, 2026 meeting, the International Falls City Council approved accounts payable and claims totaling $2,018,977.36: $1,743,564.26 for the city, $195,388.10 for the Airport Commission, and $80,025 for the airport major capital project. The council also approved a Midco proposal to consolidate city phone and internet services, replacing most services currently provided by Frontier and Cady. Staff estimated savings of about $1,000 per month, or roughly 33%; Midco will waive installation fees and provide new phones. Frontier will remain as a backup provider. The proposal passed 5–0.

The council considered a resolution supporting the Highway 1171 corridor study and discussed coordinating future reconstruction with city utility work. Officials said the project will proceed in phases, and that a state cost-participation formula caps the city’s local share; the city’s specific costs remain undetermined. A memorandum reported that the water treatment plant improvement project remains on track, with no procurement action detailed. The council also approved a casual paramedic hire and a police officer hire, and approved 2027 license renewals for Super One Liquor and Super One Foods.
