# 2026-9-28 Snoqualmie City Council Roundtable & Regular Meeting

The Snoqualmie City Council held a roundtable and regular meeting on September 28, 2026, including a presentation of the mayor’s preliminary 2027–2028 budget. The proposal projects $108 million in uses and $122.3 million in sources, with the difference largely reflecting a planned 2027 utility revenue bond to be spent on capital projects over time. It proposes 10.5 additional positions, including added capacity for finance, purchasing and contracting, legal, public safety, planning, and infrastructure maintenance. The budget also includes about $2.1 million annually for renewal of streets, parks, and facilities and about $3.3 million annually for utility mains and drains. Council discussed the proposal’s assumption of a voter-approved levy lid lift for 2028, reserve drawdown and rebuilding, service levels, and how to gather public input; no decision on the levy lift was made at this meeting.

The council received guidance on the upcoming 2027 landscape-services contract, which staff expects to bid this fall. Options included maintaining the current scope, replacing median turf, or using lower-growing shrubs and other changes; members discussed costs, traffic control, irrigation and water savings, and sightlines. Staff proposed a two-year contract with a two-year optional extension, and the item will return through committee and to council; no contract award or final direction was made. The council also approved Ordinance 1331, amending the 2025–2026 biennial budget for legally or contractually required payments. It considered Ordinance 1332 and passed an amendment removing authorization for an additional police position and reducing a related appropriation request to $35,000; the transcript does not capture the final vote on the amended ordinance. Separately, a regional community development block grant allocation included an additional $50,000 for the Sno-Valley Senior Center elevator replacement.
