# Parks Advisory Board - November 2, 2026

The City of Saginaw Parks Advisory Board met on November 2, 2026. The board approved a $35,150 contribution request toward the master signage plan, matching Keep Saginaw Beautiful’s recommended share. Staff described the plan as design, documentation, and implementation support—not sign fabrication—with an estimated total cost stated as approximately $70,300 to $75,000. Two formal quotes had been received, and staff said the city would determine the appropriate competitive process and return to City Council; sign production would be a later procurement. For temporary wildflower-area signs, the board approved the local First Place Signs option: 10 signs at $15 each, approximately $175 including stakes. It also approved $260 for needed holiday-float materials.

The board reviewed a proposed 17-pole park lighting package estimated at $79,900, but tabled further action pending lighting-coverage renderings and additional information; members also requested information on court lighting and adding Willow Creek’s basketball court to the review. A fishing pond design proposal from Kimley-Horn was discussed, including engineering and bidding/construction-phase services, but no funding or procurement action was taken; members emphasized other park priorities and funding constraints. The September fund report showed a balance of $190,118.12 as of October 1, with reported donations and expenditures. No contract award for signage, pond design, or lighting was made.
