# Navy Seeks Cargo Drone Demonstrations in Huntsville

The Department of the Navy and U.S. Marine Corps will host a TRUAS Increment II cargo-UAS demonstration in Huntsville, Alabama, from January 25 to February 5, 2027. Systems will be evaluated on autonomous logistics flights, including carrying 100 pounds over a 40-nautical-mile outbound leg and return, and at least 150 pounds over a 10-nautical-mile outbound leg and return, without refueling; the evaluation also includes autonomous landing-zone assessment and collision avoidance. Submissions are due **November 30, 2026** and technical questions are due November 13. Applicants must join the Naval Aviation Systems Consortium to be eligible. Strong performers may be considered for prototype Other Transaction agreements, but awards are not guaranteed; successful prototypes could lead to follow-on production without further competition.

- Contractors interested in participating should address consortium membership and technical questions ahead of the November 13 deadline; submissions are due November 30 (**26 days remaining** as of November 4, 2026).
- Companies should evaluate whether their aircraft can demonstrate the stated payload-and-range profiles and autonomous capabilities during the Huntsville event.
- The opportunity is a technology demonstration, not a guaranteed contract award. Eligible firms may be considered for prototype OT agreements, with potential follow-on production creating a significant opportunity for successful systems.
