# City Council Meeting - November 2, 2026

The Marlborough City Council meeting on November 2, 2026, accepted a $200 gift from the Women’s Fellowship of First Church for Conservation Commission land maintenance and protection, and approved a $2,076.48 Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation Bureau of Forestry grant for stewardship of the Desert Natural Area. Both actions passed 11–0. A salary-schedule amendment covering several positions, including the chief procurement officer, was referred to the Finance Committee; no purchasing decision or contract award was made. The council also scheduled a tax-classification public hearing for November 16.

The council unanimously approved a special permit for Boston Bruins LLC to construct and operate a drive-through-only coffee shop at 2 Mount Royal Avenue. Conditions include further site-plan review, stormwater and landscaping requirements, limits on operating hours, traffic management measures, and police details during the initial opening period and certain promotional events. The meeting also included remarks on former Mayor Nancy Stevens’s legacy, including her role in securing more than $14 million in grants and authorizing over $100 million in bonds for wastewater-treatment plant upgrades; these were historical remarks, not new spending actions at this meeting.
