# Planning Commission Meeting

The Augusta, Georgia Planning Commission’s November 3, 2026 meeting approved the final plat for Glassenberry Phase 1A, a phase of a development approved in 2020. The plat covers 84 lots and includes two entrances; the motion to approve passed. No contracts, purchasing decisions, or procurement-related spending were identified.

The commission also approved an amendment to the comprehensive zoning ordinance establishing special-exception requirements for vape shops, including 5,000-foot separation buffers from other vape shops and specified protected uses, application and documentation requirements, and provisions for existing nonconforming businesses. Staff said it would review existing businesses’ license information and pursue enforcement where businesses are not operating as represented. The amendment requires two readings. Several other agenda items were postponed to the December meeting, including ZA-26-17, Z-26-18, and SE-26-22; the transcript also references ZA-263 as postponed.
