# Regular monthly meeting of the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of Sweetwater TN

The regular monthly meeting of the Sweetwater, Tennessee, Mayor and Board of Commissioners was held November 2, 2026. The board approved the September distribution report, which included significant ongoing and capital-related expenses: $133,000 to Evans Ay Construction for the first community-center pay application; $130,623.33 to APAC Atlantic for street paving; $23,323.75 to Cannon & Canon for sidewalk and TAP-grant engineering; and payments for the salt bin/shed, including $2,880 to Concrete Products and $12,000 to Durospan. Other reported expenses included $50,000 to Retail Strategies for retail recruitment, $7,129.99 to Main Street Studio Architects for the community center and recreation complex, and $26,546.62 to Waste Connections under the garbage contract. The board also approved a resolution for a grant through PE Partners and approved police and fire salary-supplement payments, which the city typically makes in November and seeks to have reimbursed by the state. The report’s payments were approved by vote; no new major construction contract award was identified.

Public commenters debated the city’s Flock automated license-plate cameras, including privacy, access controls, alleged misuse, and whether to renew the contract when it comes up in 2027. Supporters cited public-safety uses, while the city attorney said the current use was, in his opinion, lawful and recommended awaiting further court or legislative decisions. The board took no action on the cameras or potential renewal. The board also approved an on-premises beer application for Zach’s Sports Bar and Grill; other business included ordinance readings and appointments.
