At the October 19, 2026, Ellensburg City Council regular meeting, the council approved the award of RFP R25-2 for enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and implementation services to Workday and implementation partner Strata. The motion authorized execution of the agreements, payment of fixed fees plus tax, necessary budget adjustments, and temporary project staffing of up to $1.56 million for 18–24 months. The city reported implementation costs of about $1.656 million and training and licensing costs of about $2.188 million over 2026–2035; $2.123 million, plus approximately $183,000 in taxes, is anticipated for 2026–2028. The project had been prefunded with $2.479 million, of which $285,925 was used for consulting, leaving about $2.193 million. The council also directed staff, following executive session, to pursue options to purchase real estate.

The council held a public hearing on proposed 2027 general-fund revenue sources, including a maximum 1% property-tax levy increase—about $38,178—but took no levy action at this meeting. It adopted taxi-code revisions, effective January 1, 2027, that remove council approval for certificates of public convenience and update vehicle inspection, driver, equipment, identification, and appeal provisions. First readings were approved for an ordinance raising the council-approval threshold for gifts and donations from $1,000 to $5,000 and an amendment allowing any officer of the high-school Environmental Club to serve as an ex officio Environmental Commission member. A presentation on community pool needs discussed survey results and comparable projects averaging about $23 million, with a possible local project estimate of $25–$30 million; no pool funding or project decision was made. Staff also noted a decarbonization roadmap contract recommendation was expected at a future meeting.
