# Transportation Mobility Advisory Committee Meeting - August 25, 2026

The City of Bend Transportation Mobility Advisory Committee met on August 25, 2026. The committee approved its April minutes. Staff outlined upcoming bond-funded work and procurement: the City Council recently approved a progressive design-build contract for the Reed Market overcrossing, now in design, and an owner’s representative contract is expected in October to support design and construction, including contractor price negotiations. The City has hired Kittleson to assist with transportation engineering standards updates; no contract amount was stated. Staff also noted that a bond and redesign contract is being developed and that funding scenarios are under review. The committee scheduled an October 27 meeting to begin reviewing bond funding priorities, with further meetings anticipated in December and January; any recommendations will depend on direction from Council.

Staff presented $2.4 million in neighborhood connections funding: $1.2 million from Juniper land-sale proceeds for slower, safer street projects, plus $600,000 each for bike and sidewalk projects this biennium. The committee also discussed a potential reallocation of bond funds, including approximately $17.1 million in ODOT contributions not currently assigned to ODOT projects, and other active or inactive projects; no reallocation decision was made. An $8 million agreement for mobility hubs and related improvements with the regional transit partner was discussed, with a member clarifying that only $1 million had been transferred so far. Other discussion covered future committee priorities, the growth plan, public engagement, and transportation standards. No new procurement award or spending motion was made at this meeting.
