# Navy Awards $99.09M Submarine Overhaul Contract

Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) awarded Fairbanks Morse Defense a **$99.09 million sole-source follow-on contract**, reported October 28, 2026, for parts, labor, and Emergency Diesel Generator overhauls on six U.S. nuclear submarines. The four-year effort runs through 2030 and supports life-extension work on Ohio- and Los Angeles-class submarines, helping maintain the availability of attack and ballistic missile submarines into the 2030s.

- The award is not an open competition; however, suppliers may find supporting opportunities in submarine maintenance, OEM parts, robotic welding, and depot-maintenance process improvements.
- The work underscores continued Navy demand for specialized submarine sustainment capabilities and qualified original-equipment expertise.
- Contractors pursuing related work should assess their ability to support submarine generator overhauls, parts supply, and maintenance processes; the signals do not identify specific subcontract solicitations or locations.
