# City of San Dimas Regular City Council - October 27th, 2026

The City of San Dimas Regular City Council meeting was held October 27, 2026. Council approved an additional $34,000 for geotechnical testing and inspection on construction contract 2025-05, the Charter Oak north property line wall project. The additional testing is needed because the project has extended from an anticipated 90 working days to about 140; total inspection costs are now estimated at $61,184, compared with about $27,000 originally. Council also approved the uniform rental and laundering agreement with direction for staff to negotiate revisions with UniFirst, including clarifying the price-increase cap, addressing automatic renewal and additional charges, removing or revising the termination penalty, and changing the governing law. Staff said unresolved terms would return to Council. Both actions passed 4-0, with one abstention due to an absent council member.

After a public hearing, Council adopted resolution 2026-68 setting Waste Management’s 2027 solid-waste rates, effective January 1 through December 31, 2027. The approved adjustment is 3.51% under the city’s existing franchise agreement and five-year rate methodology; the standard 64-gallon residential service will increase about $1.43 per month and the qualifying senior rate about $1.01. Staff reported that an independent consultant verified the calculation and that no protests had been received. The meeting also included community recognitions and updates, with no other procurement actions identified.
