# Strategic Planning Committee - 10/27/2026

The Town of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, Strategic Planning Committee met on October 27, 2026, to revise proposed annual goals for the town manager before referring them to the Town Council. The committee approved goals to develop and publicly present an updated water master plan addressing water quality, new sources, system capacity, timelines, and funding; update roadway condition assessments and repair priorities with DPW; and use the completed capital improvement plan when formulating roadway, water, and sewer improvements. It also proposed establishing a town-house restoration committee to guide the project, and discussed hiring a new Community and Economic Development (CED) director. No construction contracts, vendor selections, or capital spending amounts were approved at this meeting.

The committee approved additional goals concerning public engagement, communications, and a classification and compensation plan. Members declined to include a proposed independent operational-efficiency consultant assessment, citing the need to be frugal. The town manager noted that the current capital process was already underway and that the updated roadway priorities could inform a future process. The committee planned to refer its revised goals to the Town Council; a follow-up committee meeting would be held only if the Council returned the matter with substantial changes.
