# Library Advisory Board meeting - 29 July 2026

The City of Sandy Library Advisory Board meeting, identified in the title as July 29, 2026, approved the April 1 minutes and discussed exploring a possible lease of approximately 3,000 square feet in two connected downtown spaces for library and community use. Ideas included teen or children’s areas, meeting and tutoring rooms, and space for the Friends’ Book Nook. Members generally supported further exploration, but did not approve a lease or spending. Staff will return with rent and lease-term information, a timeline, an assessment of needed repairs or improvements, and the community needs identified in strategic planning. Staffing and operating costs were also raised as key considerations. A self-service library technology option was noted as potentially costing more than $200,000, but was not proposed for approval.
