# Groton Planning and Zoning Commission - 10/27/26

The Groton Planning and Zoning Commission held a meeting on October 27, 2026. The commission unanimously approved adding “William Seely Drive” as an honorary name to Seely School Drive, effective December 1, 2026; the existing legal road name and address will remain unchanged. It also unanimously approved a five-year extension for site plan SIT2206, Rogers Development, at 1154 Poquonnock Road, extending the approval to July 13, 2032, so the developer can proceed with a planned building along Route 1. No procurement, contract award, or purchasing activity was identified.

The commission discussed a housing-attainability tool for the Missing Middle Housing work, including construction and land costs, unit density, and community land trusts; staff will consider feedback to add financing-cost scenarios. A member of the public raised concerns about commercial oyster farming and town input over submerged lands in the Mystic River. Staff also advised that Connecticut Public Act 25-72 requires applicants submitting studies or evaluations to disclose the author, cost, and reliability of those materials. The commission adopted its 2027 regular meeting schedule.
