# Planning Board - 10/27/26

The Westwood Planning Board met on October 27, 2026, and unanimously adopted the Earth Material Movement Approval Rules and Regulations and Solar Design Review Approval Rules and Regulations. The solar rules were amended to allow the board to require a performance guarantee or bond sufficient to cover removal and disposal of a solar facility upon abandonment or cessation of use; the board may waive that requirement. The University Station rules were deferred to a future meeting. No contracts, vendor selections, or procurement awards were made. The board also noted that a town meeting article authorizing a not-to-exceed amount for the fire station had passed, with a ballot question expected the following week; the Planning Board has not received an application for the project and identified parking and stormwater as areas for future review.

Staff reported that draft warrant articles are being prepared on data centers, mixed-use residential options in commercial zones, and an access approval overlay district. The board supported drafting potential changes to both the general and zoning bylaws to address noise limits, with a draft expected for a November meeting. These discussions concern future land-use and development requirements, not current purchasing activity.
