# City Council Work Session Part 2 | October 27, 2026

The City of Fort Worth City Council held a work session on October 27, 2026. Council reviewed use of the 2026 bond’s $25 million allocation for open-space acquisitions; staff said due diligence was underway on several properties and nearly $20 million in potential opportunities, with acquisition items possibly coming to Council later this year or early next year. Members also discussed coordination of water and transportation projects, long-range scheduling, and communication requirements for utility street closures. Staff said it would add permit requirements for notification to affected council offices and community stakeholders on impactful closures and provide evidence of outreach. The Neighborhood Improvement Program update reported that all program funds were now allocated to identified projects and that spending progress had improved, though some capital projects take longer to complete.

Staff presented a proposed five-year economic development agreement for Beacon Modular, a subsidiary of Lighthouse Electric, at 4801 Henrietta Creek. The proposal would provide annual grants of up to $100,000, capped at $500,000 total, tied to taxable sales and company performance; the project is expected to involve $30 million in capital investment, at least 600 full-time jobs, and a minimum average wage of $91,000. The proposal is scheduled for Council consideration on November 10; no vote was taken at this work session. Council also discussed retaining current SBA small-business definitions rather than adopting proposed federal changes, pending further engagement. No contract award or purchasing approval was made.
