# October 21, 2026 Planning Commission meeting

The Boulder City Planning Commission regular meeting was held October 21, 2026. The commission unanimously approved the August 19 meeting minutes and unanimously approved a variance for 650 Arizona Street, allowing the front setback to be reduced from 20 feet to 12 feet and an accessory structure to be located in the front yard. Staff cited the lot’s physical constraints; one written comment raised traffic-safety and visibility concerns, which staff said the proposed structure would not affect. No contract awards, purchases, or other procurement activity were identified.

The commission also considered a conditional use permit for the Carbon Cactus Project, represented by Zsolt Stryker, to establish an outdoor cactus-growing operation at 1201 Quail Drive. The proposal includes cultivation, drip irrigation, parking, and related agricultural activities. A motion was made and seconded to approve Resolution 1287, including findings and conditions, for CU-26-291; the transcript does not capture the vote or final disposition. Staff noted that access, drainage, utilities, and fire protection would be reviewed through applicable permitting. An update stated that City Council had approved one residential allotment for 848 Lime Rock Road on August 25, 2026.
