The Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) Board of Trustees meeting on October 26, 2026, approved acceptance of several education grants. These included FY2026–27 Indiana Department of Education special-education grants supporting staff, contracted training and technical assistance, and instructional materials; a $226,854.25 high-ability grant; and federal Title grants totaling $20,798,999.47 for student programming, staff costs, professional learning, family engagement, and supplies. Motions to approve these grant acceptances passed. Some special-education grant figures and individual Title grant amounts were unclear in the transcript.

The board also approved a $100,000 Donwood Foundation planning grant for an industry-driven advanced manufacturing and entrepreneurship program for up to 50 students at the Junction 36 building. The grant will support program planning; a possible subsequent implementation grant of up to $1 million over five years would require a later application and is not yet awarded. The meeting also included a presentation on FWCS career-pathway experiences and general board comments. No vendor selection, contract award, or competitive purchasing decision was identified.
