# Berkeley County Planning Commissions 10/27/2026

Berkeley County Planning Commission meeting, October 27, 2026: The Commission approved the September 22 minutes, with one abstention. It denied Fred Ravanel of Blessed Homes LLC’s request to waive private-road paving requirements for a proposed subdivision on Cottage Lane. Commissioners cited insufficient evidence of an adequate shared road-maintenance arrangement among the properties served by the road. Staff said the applicant may reapply with new information, such as documented efforts to contact all affected landowners and obtain their agreement. Staff also noted that additional dwellings might be possible without subdividing, subject to density limits.

The Commission approved a recommendation to rezone Kevin Brown’s approximately 0.311-acre parcel on Sugar Hill Drive from General Commercial to Manufactured Residential (R-2) for a planned replacement home; County Council has final authority on the rezoning. The Commission also approved its draft 2027 meeting calendar and discussed a new online application process for board appointments. No contracts, purchasing decisions, budget allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.
