# Regular Session of Commissioners Court October 27, 2026

Burnet County Commissioners Court regular session, October 27, 2026: The court approved submission of a corridor-agreement request to TxDOT and an advanced funding agreement for utility relocation and right-of-way work on the Wirtz Dam Bridge project, supported by a reported $10 million federal allocation. It also approved criteria for a county transportation call for projects, with approximately $5.5 million identified for road improvements, about $1 million for land acquisition, and additional engineering funds. The court authorized bidding for County Road 337 and 340 roadway and low-water-crossing improvements; the county plans to proceed with its own funds and may later seek partial FEMA reimbursement. It accepted Agate Road into the county road system with a variance, and approved an expanded outdoor-warning-siren plan: seven sirens and five gauges initially, with three additional siren-and-gauge locations to be added to the state funding request, estimated at roughly $1.55–$1.7 million. Related approvals included interlocal agreements with four cities and authority to negotiate utility and access agreements. The court deferred action on an architectural/engineering RFQ for a county office building while facilities planning continues.

Other approved purchases and agreements included up to $3,000 for the employee luncheon caterer; a $2,736 Motorola in-car camera system; a road-and-bridge spray bar up to $7,509.62; Johnson Controls fire-panel work up to an additional $9,259.48, raising the project cap to $66,269.14; and a $24,735.94 budget transfer for road-and-bridge radios. The court approved jail food service with Aramark up to $750,000, Spectrum jail streaming service up to $1,533 monthly, and renewal of county Google Workspace accounts for $62,158.80; it also directed the IT director to obtain a written CIRA quote and an internal migration proposal for Microsoft 365 within 60 days. A proposed Darktrace cybersecurity purchase was not acted on, pending further budget reconciliation and review. The court approved a $100,000 judicial case-management grant application with no county match, a meals grant up to $10,000, and two hotel-occupancy-tax event sponsorships totaling up to $2,500.
