# Delaware County Council - October 27th, 2026

The Delaware County Council meeting was called to order on October 27, 2026. Council approved several budget transfers and appropriations, including communications overtime and holiday pay adjustments and $60,000 for radio equipment; $21,000 shifted from public defender salary savings to attorney fees; and a $100,000 capital transfer from the pension supplement fund to ambulance replacement. Council also approved $17,500 in Community Foundation funds to purchase nine laptops, and sheriff’s appropriations of $3,275 in grant funds for overtime and $10,000 in forfeiture funds for supplies. Other transfers covered anticipated jury and psychological evaluation costs, bridge infrastructure, and grant-funded salary increases. No contract awards or bids were approved during the meeting.

Council discussed, but did not formally approve, up to $50,000 in county funding toward a $291,000 VHF radio-system upgrade following flooding. The proposed tower replacement was estimated at approximately $1.7 million; officials discussed a potential $1 million loan through the state bond bank at 2% interest, while pursuing FEMA and insurance funding. For a bridge project estimated at $5.18 million, the county’s stated 20% share is approximately $1.036 million; design work is underway, with construction expected to begin in 2028. Officials also noted four existing projects with the Delaware County Redevelopment Commission totaling $2,435,646, including road paving and bridge work. Further funding decisions and procurement steps remain pending.
