# City Council Meeting

Mayfield Heights City Council meeting, October 27, 2026. Council approved several spending items: a purchase and assembly of two snow plows through Sourcewell with Concord Road Equipment, not to exceed $45,757.64; an interim Mayfield Road pavement repair project, not to exceed $365,914.58, with the lowest bidder identified as Karvo; a $42,470 Guide Studio contract for a city branding refresh coordinated with the master plan; and a $57,275 contract with Evident Lighting for permanent LED lighting at the community center and City Hall. Each approval included a vote to suspend the rules and passed by roll call. The finance director said a budget adjustment would later consolidate recreation, pool, and community-center funds for the lighting expense. Council also swore in two auxiliary police members; officials noted the positions receive modest compensation and help limit police overtime costs.

Council did not adopt Resolution 2026-75, which concerned a petition to rezone the Parkland Boulevard parcel from residential zoning back to U-7 office use. The measure failed, with six votes against and one in favor, after public comments and written submissions presented opposing views on the proposed 61 townhomes, including traffic and safety, office-market conditions, housing, and the pending November 3 voter decision. Resolution 2026-69, concerning a memorandum of understanding for the Kitty Hook and Ladder vehicle, remained on second reading pending document review. The meeting also included updates on the city park renovation and master-plan process.
