# Disability Commission - 10/27/2026

The Town of Bridgewater Disability Commission met on October 27, 2026. Members approved the September minutes. Discussion focused on concerns raised at a High Point estate meeting, including police response and training related to autistic and nonverbal residents, upkeep of streets and sidewalks within the private community, and a faded crosswalk. Members planned follow-up with a resident and the police department; they also discussed contacting the Highway Department about streetlights that have been out near Union Congregational Church, where poor lighting and sidewalks were described as a safety concern.

The commission discussed pending grant applications and accessibility work, including handrails at the library and access to the front pavilion; the related matter was expected to go before Town Council in December, with a fuller update deferred to January. Members also discussed commission staffing and the secretary role, and agreed to skip its November and December meetings. A brief commission presentation to Town Council was planned for January. No contract awards, purchasing decisions, or other procurement activity were identified.
