# Woodbury City Council Meeting 10-21-26

The Woodbury City Council meeting on October 21, 2026, included several spending- and infrastructure-related actions. The council unanimously accepted a $1,031,000 FY2026 Byrne discretionary grant for the city’s records management system (RMS), intended to support system user fees, hardware, staff time, or consulting to improve the system. The council also approved a community solar garden proposed by US Solar at 11860 Dale Road Court, with landscaping and screening conditions and an interim-use term ending upon redevelopment, sustained violations, or 30 years. The council authorized preparation of a preliminary report for the Kobe Lake stormwater project and approved property and easement acquisition for the Weird Drive improvement project north of Tamarack Road; Council Member Wilson voted against the latter resolution. No RFP or contract award was identified.

The council adopted amendments allowing backyard chickens on eligible single-family properties, including a requirement to complete a city-approved poultry-keeping course and removal of the proposed premise-identification-number requirement. Speakers also raised concerns about data-center water use and Flock surveillance cameras; the mayor noted an existing data-center moratorium, and staff said an audit update would be provided by year-end. These discussions did not result in a procurement action at this meeting.
