# GOV Joint Public Works Infrastructure 10 22 2026

The joint meeting of Nashua’s Committee of Infrastructure and Board of Public Works was held October 22, 2026, to advance the Department of Public Works (DPW) garage project toward construction. Members approved project invoices, including HKT Architects’ services invoice for $343,890.28 and a $701,425.66 Harvey Body equipment deposit. They also approved $1,533,731 for construction administration and closeout, a UTS of Massachusetts site-testing contract with a not-to-exceed amount of $125,000, and Harvey Construction’s $43,479,897 guaranteed maximum price (GMP) construction contract. The GMP includes, rather than adds to, the previously discussed amount. The invoice approvals passed; the construction-contract package passed with one nay vote. Officials said insurance language and other standard business terms would continue to be finalized.

The project team reported that site mobilization could begin as early as the first week of November, with substantial completion targeted for June 2028. The plan calls for maintaining solid-waste operations throughout construction, relocating some structures for winter use, and coordinating any infrastructure tie-ins to avoid operational interruptions. A request for proposals for third-party testing services had been issued, and the city and project team were reviewing the contractor’s logistics plan. Officials also discussed establishing regular monthly project meetings; scheduling was to be coordinated.
