# School Board Meeting 10/21/26

The Oyster River Cooperative School District School Board met on October 21, 2026. The business administrator reported that employee contracts and benefits, along with estimated fuel, utilities, and lease costs, were encumbered. The capital projects fund included $67,327 in funds from the middle school project, which was expected to become fund balance at year-end. The district continues to explore alternatives for third-party transportation; diesel and unleaded fuel prices were reported at approximately $5.18 and $3.49 per gallon, respectively. No contract awards, vendor selections, or new purchasing approvals were identified.

The board voted 6–0, with the student representative abstaining, to state that it does not support Question 2 on the November 3 ballot concerning HB 1300, citing budget-planning timing, potential effects on programs and services, and local control. The board also approved the first reading of an attendance policy and authorized an internal superintendent search and its advertisement. Other discussion included the high school’s accreditation improvement goals and a request for additional community input on the district strategic plan.
