# Santa Maria City Council - October 20, 2026 Meeting

The Santa Maria City Council meeting was held October 20, 2026. The council presented proclamations recognizing World Polio Day and Code Enforcement Officer Appreciation Week. During public comment, a manufactured-home residents’ representative urged the city to pursue a mandatory mobile-home rent stabilization program or replace the model lease. Another speaker advocated for Measure C, a proposed half-cent local sales tax on the November ballot, saying its revenue would support public safety, street repairs, parks, and community programs; no council action on the measure was taken. A speaker also offered to help remove deteriorated neighborhood-watch signs, and staff offered to provide information.
