# 10/15/26 Ambulance Authority

The Coffee County Ambulance Authority met on October 15, 2026. The board reviewed and approved monthly write-offs of approximately $6,556 for August and $4,950 for September, and reviewed quarterly financial reports. The interim director reported that an ambulance ordered earlier in the year is currently estimated for completion in April 2027; the authority had no update on a related grant for new ambulances. Staffing has improved with two full-time medic hires and one EMT scheduled to start November 3, though one employee remains on medical leave and another is attending medic school.

The board approved spending approximately $3,000 to transfer a power load to Unit 34, including installation of a new reinforcement plate, so the unit can return to service. Saint Thomas EMS presented an application to establish a Coffee County base, initially operating one critical-care ambulance 14 hours per day; the board voted to approve the application. The meeting also included election of a chairman. No other contract awards or purchasing decisions were identified.
