# City of Boynton Beach, FL October 20, 2026 Joint Commission/CRA Meeting

The City of Boynton Beach Joint City Commission/Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) meeting was held October 20, 2026. Commissioners and the CRA board approved agreements concerning removal of the historic Boyer mural from 529–531 East Ocean Avenue, its donation, and storage at a city-owned facility. Staff was authorized to finalize arrangements involving Affiliated Development, general contractor Vertex, and the Boyer family. The city would cover storage costs, while spending above the CRA’s authorized amount would require further CRA approval; no dollar amount for the removal was stated. The city would have no commitment to reinstall the mural without separate approval and appropriation. The approvals passed by voice vote.

The city and CRA also approved a second amended and reinstated interlocal agreement for city services, including legal services, a joint conflict waiver, and an amendment to the city attorney’s employment agreement. During discussion, a commissioner stated the arrangement was $300,000 below budget and would return approximately $205,000 to the CRA. Both bodies approved the item. Public comments raised downtown parking and development concerns, suggested a pedestrian area and splash pad, and asked the CRA to reconsider a property offer; these comments did not result in further spending or procurement actions during this meeting.
