# 10/19/26 Board of Health

The Town of Fairfield Board of Health met on October 19, 2026. Members approved the prior meeting minutes; no procurement-related votes were reported. Staff described a planned electronic health record (EHR) for school nurses to replace or supplement the health module in Infinite Campus and connect with CTWiz. The item was expected to go to the Board of Selectmen, after which the purchasing director could sign a contract; an updated quote would still be needed before acquisition proceeds. The discussion also covered a bonding request for improvements to the health department and Old Town Hall, including restroom upgrades and ADA-related elevator and hallway work, which was awaiting RTM consideration.

Other spending and funding updates included opioid-settlement funds, including additional funding and a needs assessment conducted by Fair & Yeager, which the planning group will use to guide future funding decisions. Staff also reported that the Police Department obtained 500 boxes of Narcan and that overdose-response leave-behind kits had been purchased. A federal Safe Streets for All planning grant supported a safety action plan prepared by consultant Karp Associates; comments were submitted on the draft. The meeting additionally covered vaccination clinics, environmental health inspections and complaints, school nursing operations, and school-health policy issues.
