The Fairport Central School District Board of Education meeting on October 21, 2026, included updates on ongoing and planned school capital work. The construction update covered the Project 2023 work, including completed and active improvements at the high school and Martha Brown, and remaining work such as the high school library renovation. The presentation cited project amounts of $73.5 million, $36 million for additions and alterations, and $9 million for the track project; the board was also told that voters had approved transferring a little over $15 million from general-fund capital reserves to a capital project. A $126,971 Martha Brown plant purchase through the FES New York co-op was identified. The current construction work had just under $500,000 in contingency and slightly more than $68,000 in contract allowances remaining. The next project phase was in design, with bid preparation underway for Phase One and possible contract awards anticipated around late January; no contract award was made at this meeting. A student also asked the board to prioritize a future high school pool project, but the board took no action on that request.

The board accepted the June 30, 2026 financial statements and the related internal-control letter, and approved claims auditor reports for July through September; these motions passed 7–0. The external auditor reported no material weaknesses or significant deficiencies, noted the district’s reserve planning, and described the universal free-meals program’s change from a $600,000 operating loss to a $500,000 surplus. The board also approved its 2027–28 budget guiding principles 7–0. Discussion of a proposed disabled-veteran tax exemption continued without action, with further community input and information gathering planned.
