# Bothell Planning Commission Meeting - October 21, 2026

The Bothell Planning Commission held a public hearing on October 21, 2026, on the city-initiated annual comprehensive plan amendments, including an update to the downtown subarea plan. Staff described proposed updates to land-use designations and policies, housing, economic development, parks, climate and environmental information, utilities, and implementation. The downtown plan sets out a 20-year vision and goals for housing, economic vitality, transportation, public spaces, connections, and climate resilience. Commissioners raised document clarity and landmark-list suggestions and emphasized preserving park-and-ride access to support transit use. No public comments were received. The commission did not take action on the plan; staff will return with draft findings and a recommendation on November 4, followed by City Council consideration.

The utilities-element update will reflect information about Recology’s 10-year solid-waste contract through 2035, but the meeting involved no contract award, solicitation, purchasing decision, or spending vote. The commission approved its October 7 minutes and later voted to adjourn.
