# 2026-10-20 Arlington ISD School Board Workshop Meeting

Arlington ISD held a school board workshop on Oct. 20, 2026, focused on the Talent and Resources priority and the district’s Opportunity to Learn (OTL) index. Trustees and staff reviewed how campus-level data on student demographics, school conditions, engagement, and neighborhood factors can guide differentiated support. Examples of current uses included resource allocation, specialized recruiting for high-need campuses, teacher incentive allotments, principal support, and family engagement. The presenter also reported improvement in teacher and student attendance indicators, crediting, in part, embedded professional-learning days and changes to athletic scheduling that reduce teachers’ time away from classrooms.

The discussion considered how to keep OTL data current and embedded in district planning, identify high-leverage needs at individual campuses, and refine the approach over the next two to three years. No procurement actions, contract awards, vendor selections, spending motions, or votes were identified. The board recessed to closed session under cited sections of the Texas Government Code.
