# Nashua Board of Education Policy Committee 10/20/26

The Nashua Board of Education Policy Committee met on October 20, 2026, to review special education policies. The committee voted to advance Policy ACCE, on procedural safeguards and nondiscrimination, and policies covering programs for pupils with disabilities, parent/student rights, and special education evaluations to the full board. Members discussed Section 504 and IEP processes, evaluation timelines and independent evaluations, parent notifications, and how services are handled for students transferring from other states. A further policy on due process and discipline was added to the queue for a future meeting.

Members also discussed whether the district should provide the board and public with periodic special education data, including spending and student-safety information such as restraint and seclusion trends; this was raised for follow-up with the superintendent, not adopted as an action. No contract awards, purchases, budget allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.
