# North Andover (MA) Select Board - October 19, 2026

The North Andover Select Board meeting on October 19, 2026, approved a change to the purpose of a previously authorized $4 million bond for the Greater Lawrence Technical School District. After negotiations to buy the former Elks Lodge property in Lawrence did not result in a sale, the bond proceeds may instead support the design, construction, furnishing, and equipping of an on-campus addition for medical and health education programs. The planned addition is approximately 10,000–12,000 square feet, with estimated costs of $6.5–$7 million; the district reported about $7 million in available funding from a corporate foundation, rental funds, and other resources. An architect has been hired to begin design work, and the project could break ground in the summer.

The board also reviewed an Amazon warehouse traffic monitoring report prepared by Vanasse & Associates for the Planning Board. The report found daily facility traffic about 20% above projections, with truck traffic about 16% higher, and identified added delays along the Sutton Street corridor; recommendations included upgrading the Main/North Main Street signal, considering state grant funding, and discussing employee travel and shift practices with Amazon. The board declared a 2010 Pierce Arrow fire engine surplus for auction. It also approved the appointment of a library director and repealed its remote participation policy to defer to state law. No new traffic-improvement contract or grant expenditure was approved at this meeting.
