# County Commission Special Called Meeting October 20, 2026

Glynn County Commission special called meeting, October 20, 2026: Commissioners considered and approved an application for the Georgia DOT 2026 LMIG Safety Action Plan grant for county road paving, striping, and marking improvements. The project totals $338,000, including $260,000 in state grant funding and a $78,000 local match from SPLOST 2022. Staff was authorized to proceed with bidding once grant funding is received. Staff noted that GDOT had previously provided Glynn County more than $1.6 million through LMIG grants.

The Commission also adopted the county’s 10-year capital improvement plan. Staff emphasized that the plan is a planning framework, not a commitment of funds; projects, estimates, and funding sources will be reviewed and updated annually. Potential future investments include road and drainage work, facilities, fire equipment and stations, public safety, and library projects. A presentation on Georgia’s C-PACE program described private financing for commercial energy-efficiency, water-conservation, renewable-energy, and resiliency improvements; no action was taken, and establishing a local program would require county and development-authority resolutions. A paleontology presentation was also given, with no procurement action identified.
