# Measure J Commission | October 15th, 2026

The City of Palm Springs Measure J Oversight Commission meeting, listed as October 15, 2026, included a 7-0 approval of additional Measure J funding for new seating and furniture throughout the airport’s Bono Concourse, expanding the project from gates 1–4 to gates 1–10. The package was estimated at about $650,000 against $500,000 in current funding, with approximately $150,000 requested from Measure J reserves; staff cited savings on shade structures as a source of available funds. The city plans to procure from Keusch through the Omnia Partners cooperative purchasing agreement after the city procurement department did not accept the agreement for the previously considered vendor, Vitra. The cooperative arrangement avoids an open bid and supports the schedule for installation by the end of May. The commission also approved the September 17, 2026 meeting minutes, 7-0.

Staff reported approximately $4.7 million in Measure J expenditures during the first fiscal quarter, including street improvements, deferred maintenance, vehicles, and community-initiated projects. The FY 2026–27 budget includes another $9.5 million for street improvements; commissioners were told budget discussions would begin in December, with roughly $10 million anticipated for allocation over two years. Other project updates included convention center design work within a $135 million project budget, a $700,000 grant-funded pedestrian and safety master plan, and proposals for project plaques using an existing city-approved vendor. The commission supported obtaining separate proposals for site plaques and a possible City Hall display, while deferring a decision on the City Hall component for further consultation. No other spending motions were recorded.
